SERVICES
Audio/Visual Equipment and Services: Our selection of
audio/visual equipment, which includes cassette players/recorders, TV's, VCR's,
and microfilm reader/printers, are used in the library. Hands-on instruction is
given when needed. No audio/visual equipment is available for circulation.
Circulation: Books, audiobooks, cassettes, and videos are
circulated. We provide a holds service for bestsellers and other popular books.
A small group of portable E-book readers and MP3/CD players are also available for checkout.
If you need a book or magazine article not held by our library, we will try to
obtain it for you from another library. Interlibrary loan books are circulated
through our circulation system.

Children's Story Hour: The library presents a weekly
preschool story time; call 466-3552 for details. We also offer a summer reading
program annually for children from pre-school through age twelve.
Computers: Eight (8) are available
to the public for "productivity" use (word processing, spreadsheets, etc.).
Fifteen (15) workstations provide public internet access. Laser printing is available at .10 a per page.
We also have color scanners for public use, and two computers loaded with games and educational software
especially for kids.
Program Room: The library has a Program Room which may be
reserved for small group meetings. Call 466-3552 for details.
Fax Service: The library can send or receive faxes for the
public. We charge $1.00 per page to receive or to send to a U.S. fax number; we
charge $2.00 per page to send a fax overseas. There is no charge for the cover
sheet, unless it is the only page sent or received.
Photocopies: The library has a coin-operated photocopier;
copies cost 10 cents each. Microform reader-printers are also available.
Foreign Language Materials: Our library provides foreign language books, mainly
novels, through inter-library loan from North Carolina's Foreign Language
Center in addition to our regular interlibrary loan program.
Reference: In addition to books and other print material,
the reference collection contains resources on CD-ROM and microfilm.
Orientation classes are provided to groups from off-duty educational rograms.
Individuals receive assistance in research skills as needed. |
